Nashville’s Music Diva: Award Winner, Frankie Pine, at the 4th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards

Frankie Pine, the Award Winner for the hit television show “Nashville” for Best Music Supervision in a Television Comedy or Musical sits down and chats with Q score host, Jonathan McHugh, at the 4th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards.

Frankie Pine is an award-winning music supervisor known for her engaging and diverse music supervision on both high profile film and television projects such as “The Newsroom,” “Brothers and Sisters,” “Army Wives,” “Hung,” “Ugly Betty,” “Santa Claus 2” and “Magic Mike.” She is currently supervising the inspired country music drama “Nashville” and is best known for her work on “Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve.

Each week on Q Score, Jonathan McHugh takes us behind the scenes of the film and television music we love. McHugh illuminates the process of matching composers, songs, and score to specific scenes by talking to the music supervisors responsible for creating the magic.

Jonathan McHugh has spent over two decades working in film, TV and music. Through producing music themed film’s and TV shows to years of music supervision, soundtrack production, record and film company marketing and promotion, McHugh continues to bridge the gap between, music and visual media.

His film production credits include co-producing the upcoming animated short film “Live Music,” Exec. Producer of the Lionsgate horror musical; “Repo: a Genetic Opera,” Producer of the Billy Ray Cyrus stared Lifetime film “Flying By,” and co-producer on the MTV/Paramount film “Crossroads” starring Britney Spears. McHugh also co-created, co-wrote and produced the 2007 Lionsgate hip-hop/horror film anthology; “Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror.” McHugh continues to produce diverse features, his next two films in pre-production are the horror shocker, “Depravity” and the urban comedy “Compton Christmas.”
His TV production experience includes the upcoming reality show “Crash Course To Stardom” The Network TV variety show “America United: For the Troops and Their Families.” The new environmental design pilot: “Greenspace”, Supervising Producer on the environmental show for Discovery/TLC show “Battleground Earth” starring Ludacris & Tommy Lee. Consulting Producer on Fuse’s “Battle of the Bands” and his production company set up the Disney Channel’s new hit series “Imagination Movers.” He currently serves on the NARAS Grammy TV committee and this year helped guide the annual CBS TV awards show to it’s biggest ratings in years.

Jonathan has been the music supervisor for over 25 film and television projects including most recently Hillary Clinton’s intro film that debuted at the Democratic National Convention and the upcoming film “Son Of Mourning” starring Heather Graham, Danny Glover and Jamie Lynn Sigler. Some of his many other credits include Nobel Son, the Saw series, Rize, 2001Maniacs, Be Here To Love Me, Charm School, PS, Dumb and Dumberer, On the Line, Roger Dodger and The Secret Lives of Dentists. Additionally, he acted as music supervisor for the television movies A Tail of Two Bunnies, The Lone Ranger and the first-season of the hit WB television show Girlfriends.

Through his varied Film & Music career he has produced and marketed over 20 hit soundtracks including, Austin Powers, The Wedding Singer, Rush Hour, Boogie Nights, Blade, Spawn, Empire Records, Friday Night Lights, Stomp the Yard, Step Up, The Wood and Don Juan Demarco.

Positions like, Vice President of Creative Development at Jive Records, Vice President of Music at New Line Cinema, and Director of A&R/Soundracks at A&M Records allowed him the rare opportunity to not only create hit soundtracks but to implement and execute the marketing of them at the same time.
