Jackie O Style

The 50th Anniversary of JFK’s assignation was last week and it inspired us to take a look at some of JKO’s best looks.

First up we have another princess whom she inspired:

Princess Mary. Great use of the pillbox and canary yellow.

Next, we have the JKO Cape and the movie star who copied her look and made it her own:

Gwyneth clearly is rocking a JKO inspired gown to the Oscars two years ago.

And here we see them side by side:

Well, you don’t have to be a queen or movie star to sport JKO”s style, look no further than Mod Cloth for an affordably priced JKO inspired look, here we have:

Best & Brightest Coat By Pink Martini at ModCloth
JKO Black Leather Handbag at Joy Jewelers
Brass-Tipped Kitten Heels at Anthropologie
Kate Spade Double-strand Faux-pearl Necklace with bows at Neiman Marcus

When Jacqueline traveled to Rajasthan, India in the 1960s, her fashion captivated both East and West cultures. And it’s still doing so more than 50 years later. Luxe fans, check out Saloni Lodha’s Autumn 2012 line, which uses Jackie O’s 1960s visit to Rajasthan as fuel for her East-meets-West vibe.

Saloni Lodha’s collection channels Jacqueline glamour through bee-hive-inspired up-dos, skinny headbands and classic fabrics such as tweeds and wools. But what we love most is how she captures the vibrancy of Jackie O’s India visit via eclectic colors and funky patterns.

The collection starts off with a rich charcoal grey wool coat and grey and fuchsia ombré skirt, which we love for fall and winter. Another of our favorite day looks is Saloni’s oversized tweed sweater, burgundy pants and a chunky heel. It’s one of those outfits that will make any girl look smashing with minimal effort

And then there are the dresses. Between the short-sleeve wrap minis with funky Eastern patterns and the elegant floor-length gowns, the collection is all making glamour accessible. It’s hard to pick favorites, but one standout is definitely Saloni’s cobalt blue body-hugging gown. What makes this dress so special is the large Indian-inspired paisley pattern, which absolutely pops in white and mimics the curves of the body in a super flattering way. I also like Saloni’s floor-length coral dresses.

BRIAN: Who is your favorite stylish first lady, Braylen?

BRAYLEN: Answer

BRIAN: That’s all the time we have. Where can people find you?

BRIAN: Out-Tro for Show
