Denim Designer Kearstin Nuckles talks the Right Fit on Food Exposed

This week, it’s all about looking great in your favorite pair of jeans. Jackie explores the connection between the fashion world and the food world and looks back at the history of jeans and how they’ll evolved, as well as how to pick YOUR perfect pair!

 

Jackie’s guest his week is denim designer Kearstin Nuckles. Kearstin has worked for some of the biggest names in designer denim – including Paige Denim, Earnest Sewn, Textile Elizabeth and James and most recently, Hudson. She’ll give her best tips for finding the right fit and style of jeans for your body and give you the inside scoop behind the design that goes into your jeans. She has been in the fashion world for over 20 years, a personal friend of Jackie and NutriFit and a mom of two. 

 

Jackie’s Nourishing Recipe this week is an American classic – Apple Blueberry Delight. Featuring apples, blueberries, orange juice and agave nectar – this dish is high in antioxidants, Vitamin B and Vitamin C. Best of all, this yummy dessert is also low in calories and fat!

Food Exposed with Jackie Keller

 

Jackie Keller has dedicated her life to helping people improve their health and lives. On this segment, she shares her best tips for for fitting into that favorite pair of jeans!

 

Learn the health benefits of each ingredient in Jackie’s Apple Blueberry Delight – a healthy dessert that is sure to become a family favorite.

Apple Blueberry Delight

Ingredients:

4 medium apples, unpeeled
2 cups blueberries
1 tbsp. trans-fat free, lite margarine
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. orange peel, finely grated
1 tbsp. orange-flavored liqueur
2 tbsp. agave nectar
3 tbsp. orange juice

 Directions:
1. In a small bowl, mix the agave, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set it aside.
2. In a large bowl, mix the orange juice and peel. Core and thinly slice the apples; toss with the juice.
3. Place a wok over medium heat. When the wok is hot, add the margarine. When melted, add the sugar mixture and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute.
4. Add the apple mixture to the wok and stir-fry until the apples are soft (about 3 minutes). Add the liqueur, bring to a boil, and boil for about 1 minute. Add the blueberries and stir-fry until the sauce is thickened. Serve hot, topped with whipped cream, if desired.
